Over a decade ago, we introduced the Raw Data module — your gateway to exploring every nook and cranny of your network. Since replacing our database with Elasticsearch in version 4.7.1, we have been actively exploring the possibilities this powerful technology offers and how they can be leveraged within the Raw Data module. The opportunities have been vast.
New Raw Data module
Today, we are proud to present a new and improved Raw Data module. Below is a summary of the enhancements it brings:
• Significantly improved performance and scalability when inspecting large volumes of raw traffic data
• Explore traffic across customizable time ranges for detailed analysis, forensic insights, and easy drill-down into your network data
• Enhanced filtering, sorting, and grouping capabilities across a wide range of flow fields
• Added an interactive traffic timeline chart (bits/s, packets/s, flows/s) to quickly identify anomalies and traffic peaks
• Aggregated view allows you to summarize traffic data across multiple dimensions for faster, high-level insights
• Introduced new and expanded columns in the Raw Data table, exposing additional flow attributes and enabling deeper traffic analysis
• More flexible bidirectional flow analysis with refined query logic
• Continued support for IP/port resolution, WhoIs lookups, and CSV export, now powered by Elasticsearch queries
• Overall user experience and responsiveness significantly improved when working with historical raw data.

In short, the Raw Data view has been enriched with new fields, made faster and more scalable, while preserving all the features you already rely on.
With the upgrade from Elasticsearch 7 to Elasticsearch 8, NetVizura gains a faster, more powerful, and future-ready analytics foundation. The new Elasticsearch version delivers improved query and indexing performance, enabling quicker insights and smoother analysis even for data-intensive use cases such as raw traffic forensics. Enhanced scalability, stability, and resource efficiency ensure consistent performance in high-volume environments, laying a solid foundation for continued innovation and long-term platform growth.
